Praelexis was founded in 2012 with a clear purpose: to turn the promise of AI into real-world progress. After attending an international data science conference, our founder, Dr. McElory Hoffmann, recognised that Africa had the talent and drive to compete globally and to lead responsibly. He returned to Stellenbosch to build a company that would combine academic thinking with problem-solving. Since then, we’ve grown into a global consultancy, with offices in South Africa and Germany, and a track record of delivering solutions that matter.

Our team includes seasoned experts who have been working with Python since its early adoption in industry, as well as fresh, inquisitive minds pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. We operate with a distributed leadership model where everyone takes ownership and contributes meaningfully. Titles do not determine impact. We’re thoughtful about who we hire, and we value autonomy, integrity, and purpose.
